Puppet Botoid

Saturday night is horror movie and popcorn. Tonight we are watching "Puppet Botoid", a movie from 1957.

"As the end of the school year draws near, all of the students in the small town of Oakville are back to their usual selves. But one evening, something strange happens. First, the town's only grocery store is empty; then, the lights turn on in all of the homes, leaving no clues as to what could have caused them. It's only until one of the students, John, comes home with a dark ill-formed puppet . The puppet starts to speak, telling the boy about a disturbing secret that has been keeping the townspeople all these years. John starts to understand what the puppet is trying to tell him, and he sets out to find out what it is. Along the way, he meets some strange characters, including a girl who is always looking for her brother who has gone off to college; a man with a strange, comical face who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time; and a strange, ghost-like monster that refers to John as The-Boy-With The-Puppet."

The Kitchen Sink

I clogged the kitchen sink with a watermelon. It happens sometimes. I wanted to deal with the problem myself but what I discovered was strange, really strange. The pipes were twisted and tangled together in an odd, convoluted pattern. I couldn't figure out how to fix it, but it looked like it would take a lot of effort and time to untangle them.

I was about to give up when I saw something . It was a small, brown box. It had a note attached to it. The note said, "I found this under the sink. It's a watermelon. If you can figure out how to fix it, I'll give you a dollar."

I was never so embarrassed in my life. I knew I couldn't fix the watermelon, but I was also embarrassed that I had given away a dollar to someone that couldn't even fix their own watermelon. I quickly locked the door to the kitchen and went to the store to buy a new watermelon.

The High Hats

The High Hats are finally coming to San Francisco. They are one of my favorite bands and their lyrics often deal with mathematics. “Sky High and Six Feet Under”, from their last album "Humple Gulup”, starts with the “sum of A and B equals C because of the addition property.”

The Mystifying Experience

What happened today? I was on my way to the Google campus and out of nowhere I had a mystifying episode. I got lost, couldn't find the right exit, had to call an Uber, got stuck in traffic, and had to completely reroute my way there. But you know what? I survived. I'm completely fine and I'm not stopping until I get where I need to be.

Octagon Roses

Today is gardening day.

I have been trying to grow "Octagon Roses". They are 8 stalks of 2 octagon roses, the roots to be planted in the flowerbed. Each part will be put together and give a rose with 8 petals. They are very beautiful little flowers, full of long and delicious tubes. The stems grow in the shape of a circle, which makes it look like an octagon inside the circle. When I have a rosebush then I can get about five roses from it. They may move when the wind blows but do not break down.

My tool are: A grass bag, a pencil clip, a gardening fork, some colored glassine paper, a bunch of twigs and bags filled with soil pellets, the end of a pencil and a clay pot.

My favourite tool is called the Holemaster. It has two handles and one blade on each handle so you can dig holes faster.

Food poisoning is just a phase.

When I went to the hospital for food poisoning, my family and I started to develop strange symptoms. My hand started to turn into tentacles, and my stomach was so upset that it started to churn. We were all so scared. We didn't know what was happening to us. In the end, we all got better. And we learned something important: that food poisoning is just a phase. It will eventually go away. The experience was really scary, but it was also really fun.

My favorite eggs

I think I have intoxicated myself and the family with the experimental dishes I have cooked, a crikkety soup and some solibum sushis. We had to rush to the hospital in the middle of the night because we were not feeling well. I am now waiting for some news (in a small room).

Here's what the doctors are saying:
We're going to wait a while longer and send you home because your blood sugar is a bit low at the moment. Gee, that's exciting, right?
The other day your mom went to the supermarket. She got some eggs (your favorite) but was told that they were bought some time ago when they were smaller. "I can't get any more," said the cashier (frightened). "But these are my favorite eggs," said your mother, "why don't they sell them in smaller sizes?"
"It's not my fault! It's what the store says" replied the cashier, "we can't go against what the store says!"
Your mother brought back to you two eggs as big as horse chestnuts.

They were the eggs I have used for the soup.

I had to drive with wet shoes and socks

When I came back home, it was to find that my house was entirely flooded after some spectacular rains. My wife and children were trapped inside. The flood was so heavy that it completely destroyed the house. It made me very sad and angry at the same time. I could not salvage anything from the house. In addition, I also had to go to work at the rain-drenched office because my boss insisted on it. It was a very difficult task as I had to drive with wet shoes and socks, but I did it anyway.

Canals are used for leisure and recreation

The city of Utrecht was built on a network of canals that were once used to transport goods and people. Today, the canals are used for leisure and recreation.

My Office at Google

I am not sure if I should share these pictures here, but I guess it's ok. It shows my desk at Google where I work.

I have two desks at work, one of them is behind me right now. I have a white desk and a brown desk. Both are perfect examples of how not to decorate a room, they are both just plain boring. However, when I moved in here, I had no choice but to use these desks, since I didn't want to move anything around. When I was given the option between these two desks, I chose the brown one, because it's much more interesting than the white one.

Short Bio

Raymond Trace was born in 1971.  He lived in a small town in Canada where he worked at a local grocery store. His job was to ring up groceries and give change back to customers. He hated his job because it was boring and repetitive. He often thought about leaving his job, but never did because he didn't have enough money saved to live off of until he could find something else.

One day, while working at the grocery store, he saw a flyer posted outside regarding a math contest. He decided to enter the contest and won first place! He received $5000 dollars! He immediately quit his job and went to California to pursue his dream of becoming a professional mathematician. While in California, he met a girl named Jennifer and they fell in love. After a year together, they got married in Las Vegas.

When he returned home after his honeymoon, he told his wife about his plans to become a professional mathematician. She wasn't happy about it and said she would divorce him if he left her and their two kids behind. So, he stayed with his family and started studying mathematics. He eventually became a professor at his university and taught students how to solve mathematical problems.

Eventually, he became bored of teaching and wanted to do something different. He decided to go back to school and study computer science. He took some classes at night and soon became a programmer. He loved programming and wrote many programs to help people learn how to program. While coding, he met a woman named Lisa and they fell in love again. They dated for two years before getting married.

He continued to code and write programs and now works for a company called Google. He loves what he does and says it's the best job ever!

He lives in San Francisco with his wife Lisa and their three kids.
